We visited producers across Italy and tasted a great deal of balsamic vinegar before we found one worth putting our name on.
The search ended in Modena, where this vinegar has been made for centuries. Our bottles come from Acetaia Marchi, a family cellar that has been ageing vinegar in wooden barrels for generations.

Two of us started it. Now we are three
Squisito Gourmet began at a kitchen table: we are a married couple who wanted to bring the Italian food we grew up with to people who cannot pop down to the local market for it.
Our accountant listened to the plan, decided he believed in it, and put his own money in. That is how two became three.
We are a small company, and we like it that way. It means we choose every product ourselves, one at a time.

What is inside
Two ingredients. That is the whole list
Turn the bottle around and the ingredient list takes one line: cooked grape must and wine vinegar. No colourings, no flavourings, no thickeners. Much of the balsamic vinegar sold abroad cannot say the same.
PGI — Protected Geographical Indication — is not a marketing word we chose. It is European law. It decides which grapes may be used, where the vinegar must be made, and who comes to check. What we added was the decision to add nothing.

- Cooked grape must and wine vinegar. The full list fits on one line of the label.
- Protected origin
- By law, the vinegar is made and aged in the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia, from grape varieties named in the specification.
- Checked batch by batch
- Every batch is verified by an inspection body authorised by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture.
- You can trace it
- The batch number printed on the label follows the bottle from the filling line to your table.
Contains sulphites, as stated on the label. Acidity 5.5% for the Aged, 6% for the High Density.
